Hi, I’m Jo! I’m a 30-something career woman by day who believes in buying less and choosing well. I live in Toronto with my husband and corgi.
Content creating is something that brings me joy. The content I create and share as jokimjorgensen is something that was born out of my genuine passion to slow down fast fashion. This is my small (but hopeful) contribution to help minimize fashion’s impact on the environment. jokimjorgensen is truly a passion project. My number one goal is to inspire others to buy less, choose well and make it last! The easiest way to do this for me has been through adopting a capsule wardrobe approach when it comes to consuming fashion. Capsule wardrobe-ing has been transformational for me beyond fashion – it has completely change my mindset when it comes to consumption in general in all areas of my life. Everything I know and have learned about capsule wardrobes and buying less & choosing well is what I want to share with the internet world! Join me in slowing fashion down!
A little history on me…
I have always enjoyed writing as a pastime, and have been writing my thoughts online since the early days of blogging culture. My first online space was on AsianAvenue where I picked up basic HTML skills (who can forget the sparkly animated gifs and auto-play background music??), and then I moved on to Xanga, LiveJournal, Blogger and eventually WordPress! My first personal style blog (The Little Dandy) launched in 2012. It took me on many adventures around Toronto including Toronto Fashion Week, PR Events, and the opportunity to film a video for Fashion Magazine x Biotherm with a couple of amazing fellow female content creators.
As I continued to grow (and age gracefully – might I add), The Little Dandy started to feel a bit off-brand for my personal style as my tastes started evolve. One of the biggest contributing factors to my evolution in mindset came from watching a documentary called The True Cost. This documentary was eye-opening and extremely informative in unveiling the terrible truths about the fast fashion industry.
I decided to stop creating as ‘The Little Dandy’ because I didn’t want to support fast fashion anymore. In 2021 I started jokimjorgensen. A blog where I share my thoughts on slow fashion and lifestyle. I hope you enjoy the content I share here.

Thank you for reading.
